Finding the Light

I can't ignore your cries for help,
echoing in the darkness.
I could run to you but what comes next?
Some would swallow their fear, think of love
and wander blind. But all I know is what I see. And all I see is what you show me.
It's safe where I am,
even comfortable.
As long as I avoid the cracks
in the walls, and the windows
that know where you are.
Huddled under quick moving clouds waiting for a storm,
do you envy me? My light, my comfort, clearly visible
from your place on the ground.

Sitting on My Favorite LogA light mist dances
in the morning sunlight. Veiling my vision like a pane of frosted glass.

My name is Sammy.

I love a lot of people, smile quite often, and believe imagination and creativity are my best assets.

I am inspired to write by many different things, I won't bother trying to list them all!

My current dream (I say current because it changes so often) is to become a psychologist and hopefully a creative writer.

I post my poetry on here because I put so much work into it that letting it sit all alone in some dusty journal seems a bit sad.

My only other artistic talent besides writing poetry, is story telling. Though I have a terrible habit of starting a story then never finishing it. I also used to fancy myself a talented photo manipulator, but I've been disillusioned since being in yearbook and seeing how amazing some people on DA are!

I'm always happy to receive compliments, or criticism, from a fellow deviant!
